INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE AND DO
LES PLANCHES DE DEAUVILLE
One of the most famous promenade in France. Located just in front of the seaside, the boardwalk is made of wood and was built in 1923.
Each beach cabin is named after a famous american actor – a tradition inherited by the American Film Festival taking place every year in September.
I fell in love with this boutique (limited to the garden and the ground floor) which is full a small treasures. You can find many items for your house (cushions, vases, glassware, pyjamas, kimonos, brooms…). A chic and bohemian general store.
11, rue Edmond Blanc
This one-star Michelin restaurant is located in the heart of Deauville and not far from the market (worth going there too!). The French chef Charles Thuillant and his lovely Korean wife Mi-Ra are a brilliant team and you will enjoy a wonderful culinary experience.
29, rue Mirabeau
RUE DU CASINO
This very chic little square gathers the most prestigious brands and department stores : Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Printemps…
What is really worth the visit is the magnificent Anglo-Norman architecture of those houses. It feels like living in a fairy tale.
Other beautiful and quaint towns to visit in the area:
Trouville and Honfleur
The best season to visit Normandy is in the Spring when apple trees blossom. It is a beautiful sight to see especially when you are driving through the countryside. May is a nice month as there are not many tourists yet and you can enjoy walking around those towns, still find easily a nice restaurant to eat at and also spend a little time walking on the beach to spot those beautiful half-timbered mansions.
Why not stop for lunch at Les Maisons de Léa in Honfleur? It is such a pleasure to visit the farmers’ market and then have a cosy lunch in this beautiful restaurant (it is also a hotel).
